Poem- Corona Catastrophe

Achoo! Sneezed a man with his running Niagara nose,

"Pity him" or "God bless" was uttered by none.

All were scared stiff and buried their noses,

as he was a time bomb which had exploded.

Much water has flown from this Niagara,

 On prior days, such episodes were seldom.

But after the world became like the film "Contagion",

All hygiene consciences were awoken.

Some jokers gobbled scrumptious bats,

These agents of chaos started a domino of a virus.

A lethal weapon to wipe out man,

Though it was christened after a lovely beer 

‘Tis the most lethal crown next to Attila the Hun,

sadly no one yet knows its expiry date.

The curiosity of consuming the world, 

 has killed and is still killing the man.

Filthy pigs are morphing into fastidious deer, 

and if a little cough strikes, a coffin is booked in advance.

The globe says "sorry, we're closed",

From protesting public to Passionate lovers, everyone's working from home.

Devotional songs are composed,Congregations are held,

All in the hope that God clears all mess.

 God must be calling us  dumb peanuts,

As hundreds gather to create more mess.

Scientists are trying to save the day with their skill and acumen,

After all, Diligence during crisis is a certificate of character.

But my vote goes to those enthralling geniuses,

Who are dedicated enough to sell sanitisers and masks in black.

Some think of their life, as that of a video game.

And roam around thinking corona as their ex.

Some think that their life is too precious,

and bathe till soap water turns red.

Schools, universities, colleges, offices all are shut down.

But one Whatsapp university is the path to nirvana

If you wanna survive pal, kick logic out of your cerebrum,

Just eat onions, smear cow dung, or drink its pee.

Momma nature has taken her revenge,

and has house-arrested every human for treason.

It is the dawn of the planet of animals, 

For them earth is again a free real estate.

Such pandemics are a centennial fumigation,

to restore the beam balance of ecology.

And at least now humans have realised that,

Cleanliness and family time are imperative.

Some party animals errand to carry out secret party hunts,

while some gems risk and venture out to save lives. 

Not all heroes wear capes after all,

some wear surgical gloves or uniforms.

This battle might last way longer than Battle of Verdun, 

 Now is the time to test how many humans are truly wise compadres.

There is a deadly virus  already looking for its targets,

don't let stress or panic create a new mental virus.
